Welcome to my review!

For my birthday this year I received a very special gift from my husband, Cody. He gave me a cookbook written by the most wonderful woman whom I have come to adore for a couple of years now. My boss got me started on reading this woman's blog and I have become more and more obsessed with each passing entry she makes. Sounds kinds of stalking like, but hey, its a public blog she writes! This woman is the Pioneer Woman. Her cookbook, Pioneer Woman Cooks. PW (Pioneer Woman) lives my life at a more extreme level. I can relate to her, cows, horses, kids, and especially the handsome husband. My Cody is quite dashing!

I am cooking up her cookbook. I will write reviews of the recipes she has created. The reviews will also include my family's thoughts of the recipes. This will be one way I can feel like I am friends with PW, we can cook together!

Chicken Fried Steak

Ree is simply marvelous!! This was a huge hit for my husband and I! Our daughter didn't think so because she said the cube steak grew in her mouth and she couldn't chew it...oh love 7 year olds.

I didn't make 3 pounds worth of cube steaks because it was only three of us. And Ree does do a little somethin somethin different when it comes to dredging...she does it twice. I have only done it once and I will now forever do it twice.

Now the gravy, it deserves it's own blog post, but since it is made with the cube steak and makes this meal a meal, I must say "oh my freakin goodness!" Savory and divine, melt in your mouth and it is a close your eyes, umm umm good!

Now here are the little downfalls I experienced. I do not have counter space so setting up my little assembly line to dunk and coat my cube steak wasn't as neat and tidy as Ree makes it look in her book. I had flour everywhere!!! Also, my stove top burner isn't even so every meal I cook I have to cook on the edge of the pan. I know you can adjust it somehow, but I haven't figured out how and my husband hasn't fixed it yet either. But it all turned out great even with those little obstacles!

I highly recommend this one and now on to another!!!

Have I mentioned this is a must have cookbook for any kitchen??? It has pictures!
