Welcome to my review!

For my birthday this year I received a very special gift from my husband, Cody. He gave me a cookbook written by the most wonderful woman whom I have come to adore for a couple of years now. My boss got me started on reading this woman's blog and I have become more and more obsessed with each passing entry she makes. Sounds kinds of stalking like, but hey, its a public blog she writes! This woman is the Pioneer Woman. Her cookbook, Pioneer Woman Cooks. PW (Pioneer Woman) lives my life at a more extreme level. I can relate to her, cows, horses, kids, and especially the handsome husband. My Cody is quite dashing!

I am cooking up her cookbook. I will write reviews of the recipes she has created. The reviews will also include my family's thoughts of the recipes. This will be one way I can feel like I am friends with PW, we can cook together!

Peach crisp with maple cream sauce

So we were in the need of a dessert. We are trying to not eat ice cream every night to help our waistlines and what a great way by making a Pioneer Woman Cooks recipe!

The lucky recipe winner of the night was the peach crisp! I must say I am a sucker for crisp!

So I got our the mixing bowls and measuring spoons and got to town. It didn't take long that's for sure!

I mixed together the peaches with flour, sugars, spices, butter and pure maple syrup. It truly is a heavenly recipe to follow!

While it was baking I created this sauce that was to die for! The maple cream sauce! I could have just made this for dessert and we would have been happy! It had all the goodies, heavy cream, maple syrup and light corn syrup.

You drizzle on top of your slice of crisp and savor every morsel of heaven. We fought for the last piece and I swear my husband licked every drop of sauce.

This will be a holiday recipe for us as I'm sure the rest of the clan will love this too!
